We are looking for a VP of Strategic Partnerships who will have the responsibility for winning new partners for Apexx and developing our relationships with key providers and partners supporting our Business product. You will be single-mindedly focused on winning new business for year 1, then integrating partners and managing circa. 10-15 live partners globally with the ability to develop and bring on new partners globally.
We are looking for someone both commercially and operationally savvy, to bring new outstanding features at the best value to our customers.
The main focus of the role will be winning new partnerships for our BNPL aggregator.
This role requires knowledge of global and local markets, and extensive experience representing digital payments products. It requires experience in commercial partnerships and supporting new product and service expansion into new markets against a backdrop of complex ecosystem role players. Experience with ‘Buy now pay later’ is essential, however, a stronger knowledge of acquiring will support the person in this job.
This is a sales partnerships role so we need someone with a commercial sales background selling similar solutions.
DESIRED BEHAVIOURS & COMPETENCE
Deep experience and a solid understanding of the payment industry and its current evolution across the US
5+ years in a Partnerships/Sales Manager position or similar working for a Fintech/Payments company
Experience with Buy now pay later (BNPL)
An ability to work on multiple cross-functional projects, and interact at all levels with diverse roles including engineers, business partners, and executive leadership
Someone well networked, who enjoys prospecting through trade shows and speaking at industry events
A clear written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong relationship-building skills coupled with the ability to develop consensus
Understanding of the PSP business model and demonstrated performance in regulated payments or electronic money institutions preferred
A self-starter who is creative and can hit the ground running from the get-go
Build and manage strategic relationships with payment industry partners
Win new business by bringing on enterprise tier 1 partners
Strengthen the influence and market position of APEXX’s business and brand while fostering joint marketing and promotion opportunities with industry stakeholders
Expand our partner and product footprint, accelerating the distribution of both new and existing APEXX offerings
Maximize current partnerships through detailed and proactive account management, working with key industry partners, suppliers, and industry associations to define, iterate and enable new products
Research and analyze industry trends and opportunities for APEXX to further distinguish its position as it relates to its payments products and support the Chief Strategy Officer with ‘Go to Market’ plans
